STLHE CALL FOR NOMINATIONS FOR THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (STLHE) invites nominations for five (5) positions on its Board of Directors.
About the Board: The Board of Directors is elected by the membership of the Society to oversee the Society’s activities. The Society elects its Directors, and the Directors elect, amongst themselves, the positions of Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer. The Board is responsible for setting the Society’s general policies and achieving its intended goals by planning and ensuring continuity of the Society’s activities.
Meetings: Most of the Board’s business is conducted by email and online video conferencing. Meetings are held approximately once per month by online video conference and, COVID restrictions permitting, in person once or twice a year, such as during the STLHE Annual Conference in June.
Term of Office: The term of office is three years, beginning in June 2022 and ending in June 2025.
Position Requirements:
- You are an STLHE member in good standing.
- Your work experience is aligned with the vision and goals of STLHE.
- You are willing to lead and be part of a team.
- Your oral communication skills in both languages are encouraged and, if lacking, we will support the development of language skills as necessary.

Nomination Process: If you are interested in this position or know of a good candidate, please consider making a nomination. Self-nominations will be accepted.
- Submit a brief 250-word expression of interest indicating your relevant experience, skills, and motivation for the position. Your expression of interest can be written in your preferred language of either French or English and the Society will prepare the translation into the other language.
- Include a letter of support from your institution. The letter should include an indication of the kinds of supports that would be available to you (e.g., time, financial) if you are elected.
- Send your package by email to the Chair of the Nominations Committee, Anita Acai (ac...@mcmaster.ca).
Deadline and Confirmation: The deadline for nominations is April 25, 2022. The Chair of the STLHE Nominations Committee will contact the candidate by email to acknowledge and confirm the receipt of their nomination to the Board of Directors.

APPEL À NOMINATIONS POUR SIÉGER AU CONSEIL D’ADMINISTRATION DE LA SAPES
La Société pour l’avancement de la pédagogie dans l’enseignement supérieur (SAPES) invite les nominations pour cinq (5) postes au sein de son Conseil d’administration.
À propos du Conseil : Le Conseil d’administration est élu par les membres de la Société pour superviser les activités de la Société. La Société élit ses dirigeants et les dirigeants élisent parmi eux les postes de président/présidente, vice-président/vice-présidente, secrétaire et trésorier/trésorière. Le Conseil est chargé d’établir les politiques générales et de réaliser les objectifs visés en planifiant et en assurant la continuité des activités de la Société.
Réunions : La plupart des activités du Conseil sont menées par courriel et par vidéoconférence en ligne. Les réunions ont lieu environ une fois par mois par vidéoconférence en ligne et, si les restrictions liées à la Covid le permettent, en personne une ou deux fois par an, par exemple durant le Congrès annuel de la SAPES en juin.
Mandat : Le mandat est de trois ans, de juin 2022 à juin 2025.
Exigences des postes :
- Vous êtes membre en règle de la SAPES.
- Votre expérience de travail s’aligne avec la vision et les objectifs de la SAPES.
- Vous êtes prêt(e) à diriger et à faire partie d’une équipe.
- Vos compétences en matière de communication orale dans les deux langues sont encouragées et, si vous ne les possédez pas, nous soutiendrons le développement de vos compétences langagières tel que nécessaire.

Processus de nomination : Si vous vous intéressez à l’un de ces postes ou si vous connaissez un bon candidat ou une bonne candidate, veuillez songer à présenter une nomination. Les auto-nominations seront acceptées.
- Envoyez une courte manifestation d’intérêt de 250 mots qui indique votre expérience pertinente, vos compétences et votre motivation pour le poste. Votre lettre de manifestation d’intérêt peut être rédigée dans la langue de votre choix, en anglais ou en français, et la Société préparera la traduction dans l’autre langue.
- Ajoutez une lettre de soutien de votre établissement. La lettre devrait inclure une indication du genre de soutien qui vous sera accordé (par ex. temps, financement) si vous êtes élu(e).
- Envoyez vos documents par courriel à la présidente du comité des nominations, Anita Acai (ac...@mcmaster.ca).
Date limite et confirmation : La date limite pour l’envoi des nominations est le 25 avril 2022. La présidente du comité des nominations de la SAPES contactera les candidats et les candidates par courriel pour accuser réception et confirmer leur nomination pour siéger au Conseil d’administration.
