Good morning. Monday, May 19, 2025 marks the 100th year birthday of legendary leader Malcolm X. Join Philadelphians on Saturday, May 17 to honor and celebrate Malcolm X, and to draw inspiration from his legacy for the current moment. Plus, enter your students' essays about Malcolm into an essay contest. See info below.
Check out our complete workshop offerings here. We'll also have resource tables and a powerful panel of parent, student and educator organizers. Register here and share the flyer below.
After the TAG conference, head over to Malcolm X Park for the 10th Annual Malcolm X Day Festival!
Finally, it's a tight turn around, but if you can make it happen, get your students thinking about Malcolm X's legacy and sharing their work:
In solidarity,
TAG

LOCATION UPDATE: We are excited to announce that the conference will be at the Calvary Culture and Community Center at 48th and Baltimore in West Philly. We know we had originally advertised a Center City location, so we hope this isn't too inconvenient!
In the conference registration form, participants shared what they're hoping to get out of the event. We've heard themes for what they are seeking that resonate with the goals of the conference:
"Community, radical learning"
"Ideas, inspiration, collaboration"
"Organizing practices"
"Connection with rad teachers and inspiration for personal development in my teaching practice this summer"
"Hope and joy"
We hope you'll join us! Check out our complete workshop offerings here. We'll also have resource tables and a powerful panel of parent, student and educato organizers. Register here and share the flyer below.
