Hey all,

I wrote this last night as I was preparing to go into my first day in a non-District school.

http://afterthereturn.blogspot.com/

Please read and give any feedback.

A couple things:  It could be a beginning piece for the 'Flipping the Script' story share site.

Also, do you think it is something I should send out to a wider reach of teacher folks?  Or, do you think it could potentially backfire on me (AKA -- the wrath of the District...)

Thanks for your feedback!
Anissa.

Hey Anissa,
Is it okay if I tweet a link to your  blog?

Hi all,

Thanks for sharing this, Anissa. It's a powerful piece that I think should definitely be shared with the larger TAG community. Yes, to having it be a part of the "flipping the script" stories, but it's your call about how far you wanna post it. The District is all too unpredictable to really be able to give you any solid advice. They're a mess in so many ways, so don't have it together to really care about stuff like this, but...then who the hell knows.

I'm so glad you are excited about El Centro. Let's continue to channel your/our conflicted feelings about being there (or at any charter school) into building/sustaining/using our collective rad TAG power :)

I'm with Hanako --  I think Ackerman's administration had the time and desire to pay attention to stuff like what you wrote, probably not anymore.

If you want to send it out to a wider audience, I would actually make your personal history and timeline w/ the district a little more explicit, so people can see just how bad it can be for so long (!)
