It is time to start thinking about Highlands War. It is June 11
through June 15, at Mormon Lake, near Flagstaff. Do we want to go?

Kim and I would both love to.  And I can provide showers, sleeping space if the weather goes nuts, etc.  I think we should do it.  :)

I'd love to go.   When I pick Ryan up at the airport tomorrow morning we can put our planning hats on.  I already mentioned to my boss I might ask for that time off, and it didn't look like a problem.  I was trying to have my period tent completed in time for it, but that's looking less and less likely.

I'd like to go, but I won't be able to go for the entire time for sure... Apple's WWDC is that week (8-12th) so I'll be in Cali all week, I could theoretically come up on friday sometime, or saturday.

Cate and I won't be able to go. Sorry! Say hi to the mountans for us!

I most likely won't go up until Friday morning anyway, making it a Friday, Saturday, Sunday thing, leaving Sunday evening.

The general forecast here looks like non-attendance at the moment.  Shonna is taking the kids up to Utah for a month when school lets loose next week.

I might go if someone has room in their vehicle for me going up and back down (I'm only about 5 miles from I-10 in Chandler) and has an extra tent I could borrow....

Mark,

I've got two tents:a small garbagy one and an even smaller garbagy one that falls over all the time.  I will likely use the first one (since our big tent bit the dust at Estrella this year).  You are welcome to use the second one.

I will gladly pick you up and drop you off.

How did your tent bite the dust?

One of the fiberglass poles busted.  I had to ducktape them together for the war.  Afterward, I trashed the thing.

I think you can buy poles of various sizes and lengths at camping supply stores.

Interesting, I snapped one of my poles this year too, and also fixed it with duct tape... Guess it was the duct tape war.

This pole had a special elbow at the end that connected to a metal pole.  It was not replaceable by a generic pole.   At any rate, it is too late since it lives at the dump now.
