Another not so SCA thread -

Simon was telling us at Estrella about Battlestar Galactica, and how we must see it.  My family has started watching it from the beginning.  It has become a family ritual on Thursday nights that we are all beyond impatient to do.  So far we have watched the 2 hr premier last week, and the first disk of season 1 this week.  (1st 4 episodes)  The entire family can't wait for next week.
For those of you who have watched the show, no spoilers.  For those of you who haven't ever seen it -- you are missing out.  Those folks really did their homework.  Already I can tell they spent time with the Navy (I'm ex-Navy).  They soo nailed the military.  There is enough remembrances from the show that I think to myself -- oh, I remember the fighter launches from childhood.  For the purists, really watch the old show as an adult, it's pretty goofy.  This show is just Frigging intense ... riveting.  If you have not seen it, you should.

Yes!  I to am a die hard Galactica fan.  Tomorrow is the final show.  I'm sad and I can't wait all at the same time.

Actually tomorrow is the beginning of the end! Next Friday is the SERIES end.
Really if you haven't seen it, go out right now, we will wait, rent it, buy it, borrow it, steal it. whatever it takes.
I am not kidding when I say best television. Period.

Ok Maybe Lost too......:)

We just finished season 3.  We've really enjoyed the series, but I have to say at the end of season three, it looks like a series getting ready to jump the shark.  I mean, it is on the bike, revving the engine.  We'll have season four by the weekend.... but it better have some good explanations.

And if you want to talk best television, this show can't touch Deadwood.  Wanna fight? :)

Uh uh uhh! Language, now, people.  It is Frakking intense!!

I started renting the episodes from the beginning about a year and a half ago, and I'm in the middle of season 2.5 right now.  There's a couple of episodes here that don't really contribute to the big story, so I'm just trying to get through them and hope it gets back on track.

It kind of loses its way for a bit during the end of season 3 and the beginning of season 4.  However, after they...uh...after something important happens, it gets a little better.

I missed several episodes at the end of this season (every episode that came out after Estrella War).  Julie and I will have to wait until it comes out on DVD to catch up.

Or buy the episodes you missed on iTunes ;-)  I would guess that hulu or tv.com would also have them for streaming.

It's Fraking awesome! scifi.com has most of this season available (they are missing the first two episodes). My wife loves it and she is NOT a fraking geek.

I still like the 'goofy' old: it was ahead of its time. The original three-hour release was in Europe. They cut it to a more acceptable two-hours state side. It was dark for it's time. My favorite character is Tigh. He's so different than his predecessor.

Obama won, but here's a fun election site anyhow:

LOVE the BSG.  Since I don't get live TV anymore, I've been in the habit of buying the TV I want to see on DVD and watching the entire series over a couple of weeks.  I find it really, really, really hard to wait a week between episodes now.  I've not seen the last three episodes because it will be easier for me to wait until the show is done, then watch them all together online.  Then buy the DVD's and watch the whole thing over again.  :)

I don't know Deadwood.  That sounds dumb.  Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Babylon 5 all the way!!!

The last season (or half season, as it may be) of Battlestar is
finally out on DVD. Julie and I finished the series last week. It
was quite a satisfying ending. However, I cannot believe it is over.
Now what?

Have you watched Rome? Or how about Deadwood. I enjoyed both of those.
Also I think they were both recommended by people here in Tagesterne.

I currently can't stop watching Lost.  Well, I can.  I'm not watching it at work or anything, but it is full of crazy and you are compelled to watch the next episode.

Once Lost is done, I'll do the BSG marathon from start to finish.  I've still not seen the last 4 episodes.  :(
