Dawn had an excellent idea on Facebook the other day. She asked, "Why
don't we have a beer tasting at Estrella?" You know, I've got 10 or
12 interesting commercial beers in my fridge right now, and I figure
that if I bring shot glasses, we could all have a taste of each one
without breaking my bank, leaving me beer to still consume at
Estrella. What do people think? Do you want to have a beer tasting
at Estrella? I am thinking Saturday night after the feast and the
toast. We could really get the festivities started. Who would be
interested? I need a head count to make sure I bring enough beer.
Also, does anyone else want to bring beer?

(Just a disclaimer: It is not my fault if it devolves into a Jager
fest!)

I was considering doing what you did last year, grabbing a bunch of random beers from like bevmo or somewhere, so I'd be down with bringing some extras.

Count me in. I'd also like to bring beer for it, but I would prefer you give me "homework" and give me a shopping list of beer to bring.

Really, it'll work out much better that way. If I see something fun when I'm getting the other stuff of course I'll grab it.

Okay, your homework is to find Chimay Cinq Cents. It should not be
hard to find at BevMo or Total Wine. I figure if everyone brings one
beer, we'll have a good tasting.

I'd be happy to drink other people's beer!

Oh, wait.  We have to bring our own?

You only have to sacrifice one bottle. I can get 10 shots out of a 12
oz bottle. I don't think that we'll have more than 10 people tasting.

I wouldn't mind a homework assignment too please... Something sweet (if there is such a thing when it comes to beer)  I know a really nice winery in Chandler I could get a bottle of something from there as well.

Just warn me if Mr. Jager does make an appearance as we are no longer friends.

Great. As if I wasn't jealous enough that you're all going and I'm not...now a beer-tasting to add to it.  You're just being sadists now.

In all seriousness, if you are going to have a tasting, let me hook up with one of you beforehand so I can contribute a bottle of my latest brew.  If I can't be there in person, at least my beer can be.

Sabrina,

Hmmm, something sweet...something sweet...I'm thinking...Hmmmm, I'd
say bring like a Lindeman's Kriek or something, but we already use
that for the toast, so that will not work.   To be honest, I find that
a little cloying anyway.  How about something chocolaty instead?  Your
assignment is Young's Double Chocolate Stout.

Gabe,

All the more reason why you should go.

If you truly have your heart set on not going, however, just let me
know when and where you want to meet, and I can pick up the beer.

Just found the Stout as well as Kriek this morning at Sunflower farmer's market down the street!!  In fact they have a smorgasbord of single-bottle beers to choose from.  I will definitely be doing some shopping there before war
