There are only a few of you here on the beta list so far. Hopefully that'll change. But for now, here's Tagalicious 1.1b4 for you guys to test out.

If you're testing this version of Tagalicious, please reply and let me know your setup. Operating system version, CPU type, amount of memory, and Mac model.

If you get crashes with this version of Tagalicious, please relaunch this version of Tagalicious. Tagalicious will present an crash report dialog (this one is *different* from the standard Apple crash report dialog). Put your name and e-mail address in the comments box (so I can look up your crashes, if necessary), and then submit the report.

Changes:

• state saving -- Tagalicious remembers tags retrieved from the database and the internets, as well as the tagged state of each track across launches
• icon view is much, much, much, much faster! The 500 item limit on 10.5 and the 10,000 item limit on 10.6 have been completely removed
• lots of crashes have been fixed, so this version should be much more stable

Thanks for testing!

Hi Mark --

First, please reply to the list, not to me directly. E-mail address is tagalicious...@googlegroups.com

Second, when Tagalicious is open but stuck for minutes at loading songs, choose the [Help --> Send Feedback…] menu item. Put in your e-mail address, an appropriate subject, and then make sure "System Information", "Application Log", and "Preferences" are checked. You can put in some random comments, and then click the "Send" button.

After doing that, delete your Tagalicious preferences ( located at ~/Library/Preferences/com.thelittleappfactory.Tagalicious ). See if that fixes the problem.

Bug - If you have a list of songs that you select, but no tags are
found for the very first one the "Send All to iTunes" button is
disabled. I need to select one additional (tagged) song for the
button to enable even if there are other valid tagged songs in the
initial list.

I'm running Mac OS X 10.6.4 on a 2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 2 gigs
of ram in a macbook 3,1.

One bug I've noticed is that if you maximize the application and then
select the window to show the CD covers, the drop down display with
the CD cover options does not adjust to the edge of the screen and
goes off-screen.

Tagalicious will open but wont display my iTunes library, sits in the
'No Artwork' group but wont load, nor attempt to load the iTunes
library. After another group is selected, Tagalicious attempts to load
the library, but wont. Sits spinning away but wont load the songs.
after a few minutes the library and playlist menu on the left doesn't
respond. behaviour continues after restarts and such. have tried
changing views and settings, but nothing, the rest of the interface
stays responsive though.

i've noticed a huge problem when i was going through the C's on my
artist it was changing almost every other artist to Dillinger Four for
some reason almost like it was stuck that when it couldn't make a
connection it filled it in with them.. not sure why

I have a imac, 8,1 , core 2 duo, running 10.6.4

if there is any idea why this is happening that would be great cause i
can't have half my music with the wrong artist suddenly.

Chase:

Hm, not sure why this is happening. Does the list of suggested tags
include anything other than the artist as "Dillinger Four", or is that
the only tag that Tagalicious suggests?

OK, I'm giving this a go after buying Tagalicious today and it simply
falling over every time I tried to tag more than a few songs (couldn't
be bothered to determine exactly how many!)

My set-up is an iMac Intel Core 2 Duo with 3.06GHz, 4GB RAM and 10.6.4
I am running iTunes 10.0.1 (22) and have my media stored on a drobo FS
with 10TB data across 5x2TB WD Caviar Green disks on a gigabit
network.
Plus, I have the (mis)fortune to live in Italy at the moment.

I shall give the beta a go though to see if it works any better than
the mainstream release.

Well, Simone, ha-ha! Good joke! The beta doesn't even load on my
machine! It either bounces in the dock - not responding - or does load
and then tries to load songs but also doesn't respond. Please let me
know when you get a working version, which after all is what you
advertise and what I paid for today. Or, give me my money back and
I'll go to one of your competitors that is able to do the job.

Thank you.

Hey Italy, we feel your frustration but I'm assuming Simone is working
hard on fixing the application. Can we get an update Simone?

Hey guys,

Just a head's up: Simone *is* working hard on the update and you should see something hopefully some time next week.

If you can provide a crash report for Tagalicious when you try and
launch it, that would be helpful in figuring out the problem. You can
find the crash report by opening up the Console application, under the
FILES subheading. Show the ~/Library/Logs section, and then the
com.thelittleappfactory.Tagalicious section, and then add the most
recent crash log as an attachment in a reply to this e-mail.

Yep, I'm working on a new beta, hopefully to be posted to this list in
a day or two. Was hit on a snag for a bit, but I think I've cleared
it up, so we should be good to go for some more testing soon!
