As promised, I have a new beta for all you testers! This is the first
beta for the 1.1.1 release, which will correct some more minor
problems that have been discovered with 1.1.
Here are the changes:
• Tagalicious now identifies compilations, and makes sure not to apply
the same tags across the whole album
• adds in a new Track menu to the menubar
• added new submenus of the Track menu for toggling the selected tags
or for selecting specifically the old or new tags -- these apply to
all selected tracks as a whole, so you can batch change the selected
tags for tracks now!
• icon view is reactivated for 10.5 users; it's stable now, thanks to
the previous fixes in 1.1
• spinny progress indicator in the bottom button bar is now more
accurate (should spin only when track is processing)
• further improved stability when getting info from iTunes (most
frequent 1.1 crash report so far)
• added a spinny progress indicator next to the "No Artwork" smart
group on startup, to reflect that the group is not fully populated
right on launch
• oops, added back the "Close" menu item to the File menu
Things that specifically need testing:
• compilations. Make sure that you get different artists for each
track in a compilation, but that you're still getting identical tags
(except for track name and lyrics) for all albums that are not
compilations
• new Track menu menu items -- please make sure that all the menu
items in the submenus are actually doing what they describe; pay
attention to which tag the menu item is supposed to act on, and which
of the old/new tag its supposed to select
• we've received a few reports from users of the official 1.1 release
that Tagalicious isn't transferring the tags to iTunes that it says it
is. Please focus additional testing on this area, and please let me
know if Tagalicious ever transfers incorrect tags to iTunes, and if
you can reproduce it.
