Tagalicious 1.1 is approaching release! This is a fairly stable beta,
with only a few minor issues:

• there are minor problems with display of rollovers in the details
pane view
• badge in the details pane view is in the lower-right instead of the
upper-left
• rare crash that happens when tagging is in progress and you switch
to a different playlist at the right time
• menu items in File menu need to be correctly enabled/disabled as
appropriate
• database status window shouldn't be accessible from the Window menu
• needs to be prepared for Mac App Store deployment

Please let me know if you see any outstanding issues. Minor issues
may be put off until 1.1.1, but please report them anyway! Thanks for
testing!

Oh, actually, there may be some other outstanding issues:

• icon view may not correctly update badges when the status of a track
changes or when new artwork is fetched
• there may be problems on 10.5, this will be tested again before
release

Seems MUCH more stable now. Nice work!

It crashed for me the first time I loaded it up. And there still
seems to be a HUGE quality issue. I've seen multiple people bring
this up but it doesn't look like it has been addressed yet. I just
picked a random (contiguous) 17 songs from my library. Tagalicious
says that SIX of them are from the artist "150 MORE Covers" and the
Album is "David Bowie". NONE of them are correct. I can't stress
enough that having incorrect data in 35% of my metadata is
unacceptable. Other people have also stated that random data seems to
be appearing for them from time to time. If this issue isn't fixed
before an official 1.1 release it would be a real disaster.

Please see the picture in this link:

(let me know if that doesn't work).

Thank you,
Russ

This seems to be an intermittent issue that I haven't been able to
track down. Is it reproducible on the same songs? (Delete ~/Library/
Application Support/Tagalicious/database.sql , then try retagging.)
If it is, would you mind sending me a sample of 5 song files that are
triggering the problem?

Also, I'm assuming these tracks get correct info in Tagalicious
1.0.1? (You can download that version from tlaf.com, but you'll need
to delete your Tagalicious prefs file in order for 1.0.1 not to crash
on launch.)

The pervious marked as msng now get weird cover art and no info. Link
below contains multiple screenshots.

1.1b9 is still unusable for me. Sometime it crashes after starting it
and just selecting a single song. I keep submitting the crash reports.
I love the idea of the app (which is why I bought it in the first
place), but with thousands of songs I really need to be able to select
all and have it just go through and find the tags. At a minimum, I'd
hope that it catches it's exceptions and continues to work on the next
song.

Weird. MClark, can you send me the audio files that cause this
problem? Don't reply to the list, send directly to me. simone [at]

With a new DB, it still has the same problem. See picture:

It seems like the first song that has it's name changed (by Anthony
Robbins in this case) is the artist name that seems to mis-populate
all the other entries.

1.0 does NOT have the same problem.

Here is another 1.1b9 example of this behavior.

Christopher Rees is the artist in question this time (which is
actually the right artist on the 2nd song highlighted).

Please let me know what else I can do to help resolve this pesky bug.

Russ --

Yup, I just independently figured that out and fixed that bug
yesterday! Thanks for your help, I'll be releasing 1.1b10 with the
fix shortly.

Russ: beta 10, just released, should fix the problem you reported.
MClark: please delete your Tagalicious database file -- that's likely
causing the incorrect tags with the songs that were previously marked
with 'msng' (it's located at ~/Library/Application Support/Tagalicious/
database.sql). Peter: beta 10 has fixed some stability problems, see
if it fixes your issues.
