No kana input from fcitx on Linux

I use the fcitx input processor with the mozc IME for Japanese.
I have the interface modules for GTK2, GTK3, QT4, and QT5 installed.
But when typing in the Tagini Jisho search text input field, fcitx-mozc refuses to
go into kana mode. (It works fine with other programs) I can paste kana characters
into the search field, but that is a clumsy way to use it.
Do I need an additional input module so that Tagaini will accept kana from fcitx?
