Tag Folders made it so my system wouldn't launch application completely.

Installed it.
Things running were fine. Then iTunes wouldn't start... icon bounce,
then finally stop, then message that iTunes had unexpectedly crashed.
iTunes menu bar nor window ever opened, and iTunes is not available by
command tabbing, however it is listed in the force quit menu. If try
to open other apps same thing happens even System Preferences and
Console. Same with Safari fortunately after fix safari hadn't
forgotten all its previous "workspace" of opened windows. Guess it
didn't really get that far.
Also can not shut down machine until all apps in this "ghost mode" are
forced to quit, then shut down will proceed.
Console had tons of comments like the following so I removed Tag
Folders and everything is fine. Not sure what "Too many open files"
means.

It sounds like you told Tag Prompter to watch a overly large number of
folders. Read "What not to do" in the Tag Prompter section of the Tag
Folders User Guide, and then reduce the number of folders Tag Prompter
is watching.
