I'm a Ph.D student researching efficient data management system.
Actually, I'm having a very similar idea for data/information management. In order to do my research further, I need to know whether there is any intellectual property or not. Do you have any patent about your program? If you do, I should re-think and propose an alternative idea for my project.

Tag Folders is released under the GPL 3.0. The openmeta executable
file included in the resources is released under the MIT licence. I
certainly don't have any patents on anything here. You can go to
http://code.google.com/p/openmeta/ to find out about any patents they
might have.
