Hi Vix and everyone else who's been introducing themselves!

Great to finally have some contact with Web teachers from other
colleges! There's around 20 of us on the list now, so hopefully we can
get some useful thoughts and feedback from each other.

I've been part of the WebDesign course here at Blue Mountains college
for the past 1.5 yrs, and had no TAFE experience before that. Like
Ariane, I'm more of a programmer than a designer (mainly PHP here, but
background in software development).

In case you're interested, we're currently using a blog:
http://designwebsites.blogspot.com/
as a communication tool for the WebDesign course here at Blue Mountains
College, and I've got my own blog at:
http://absoludity.net/blog/

(If other people are also using blogs personally or for course, please
let me know as I'd love to track them!)

I'm really interested to find out more about how other people are
running/facilitating the web design courses. We've only got a small
number of students (max 10), and have been experimenting with more of an
individualised program - which has had its ups and downs.

Really interested to find out more about Tony's (Lorriman) method of
getting paid hosting and using subdomains for each student... sounds
like a great way to get people started! Do other people do this too?
We've been using an internal server initially, then getting students to
obtain hosting with their client project... but doesn't always work
smoothly or on time. (For eg: most students have been going for
http://www.smartyhost.com.au/, but our TAFE network blocks the port used
for the domain admin panel!)

Anyway, great to meet you all, look forward to exchanging ideas etc!
-Michael.
