Subject: Example Unit Guide for students

Hi all,

For a long time I’ve wanted to be able to provide students with an explanation of each Unit of competency that explains how the unit is relevant to the student in a language that doesn’t assume the student already understands the topic.

If you have a chance, please take a look at the attached unit guide for “Create a simple markup language document to specification” and see what you think. It includes:

A link to the official doc on NTIS
How this unit will help you (the learner)
Ideas for learning the required skills
Ideas for demonstrating this unit
Some ideas for Grading
An evidence sheet for the specific unit

Note, it does not include a set assessment – we all have our own set assessments (which might be great to share too) – I’ve just tried to focus on what all our students need to know about the unit.

If you like the idea but think the wording can be improved, please edit the wording at:

BTW: For those who are interested, the evidence sheet can be automatically generated from the xml versions of the units that are available on Training Packages Unwrapped.
