Tactus Ensemble Cambridge, under the direction of Hugh Hinton, will perform a concert entitled “Ahi Lasso” on Friday, May 8, 2026, 7.30 pm at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 838 Massachusetts Ave in Central Square in Cambridge, MA. Tactus is a choir that specializes in singing Renaissance a cappella music, presenting programs twice yearly. Tactus’s spring concert offers music from the great Renaissance master Orlando di Lasso and some other contemporary ladies and gentlemen. This varied program goes from the liturgical, to the non-liturgical sacred, from “high” secular music (motets in Latin through Italian madrigals), all the way to the most profane (drinking and lewd songs). All of this 5 different languages and in style spanning from simple chordal settings to the most complex polyphony.
