Everytime i open the creative cloud app i get the start screen or the dashboard screen but i can't click on anything and it is not responding.
I am aware that to run photoshop on my new macbook I need to download Rosetta 2 and the beta version of the non native photoshop version however, i was never asked to downloac Rosetta 2... can't seem to find a way to instal this manually and, i can't click on the beta version of photoshop because creative cloud is non responsive.
Please help me, i have been looking for a solution for hours, i'm going crazy

I know people who have the M1 and Adobe runs smoothly for them because they are prompted with "download Rosetta 2" window. With the help of a some engineer collegues, I've tried installing Rosetta 2 manually in my computer's terminal. It says it's downloaded successfully but Adobe still doesn't work.
I'm running into the same problem. As far as I understand it, adobe apps are not yet compatible with the m1 chip in the newest models of Macs. -install/can-i-run-my-adobe-apps-on-apple-computers-that-use-...
- I can see, when opening my creative cloud, that there is a menu in the left tab "beta versions", but since my creative cloud freezes everytime I open it... i can't click on it. And if I open the creative cloud through a webbrowser, I can't find the beta versions anywhere...
after trying litteraly everything: uninstalling and re-installing creative cloud ten times, doing deep cleanses of my mac for any old photoshop caches or library items that would interfere... i decided to take drastic mesures: completelly restoring my macbook, erasing the utility discs, and starting over. and... it turns out to be the solution! now everything works!!!
I am pretty sure the problem occured because I did a migration from one mac to this new one and I also migrated the Adobe apps which also copied old instalation files and interfered with the new adobe creative cloud.
Before doing that, Adobe CC was completely uninstalled from my computer. Make sure you are using the latest version of the uninstaller ( -cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html specifically under this heading: "Download the Creative Cloud desktop app uninstaller (latest version)." Then I entered that into my terminal, re-downloaded Adobe CC and it worked.
I was also restarting my computer between entering the different lines of code into the terminal. I'm not sure if that did anything, but I tried to trouble shoot every step of the way. I hope this works for you! Best of luck.
What is a terminal?? I have this issue too! Im in school right now for design so I am so stressed out trying to figure this issue out. I just got the new mac and it doesnt even open the programs i need. please help.
In my case after migration to M1 laptop, only Acrobat DC worked normally, and all other Adobe applications freezed or crashed. Basically, I couldn't do anything because Creative Cloud freezed despite of repeated reinstallation.
After cleaning up all old files (some were probably >20 years old), Creative Cloud started to work normally. I was then able to reinstall other apps. Illustrator and Photoshops also started to work...
I fixed the issue by going to my Finder --> Applications --> Search for "Adobe" and then click "Applications" right next to "Search: This Mac" and delete EVERYTHING under that category, I mean everything, including non-app-looking files. Then, reinstall Adobe Cloud from your browser. Then you could proceed to install all of your other Adobe apps once your Adobe Cloud is installed. I hope that solves your issue.
I combined this tip of deleting all Adobe-appearing files in the Applications folder with running the Adobe Cleaner tool AND manually installing Rosetta 2 in Terminal, then restarting my computer, and that did the trick! Not sure if all of these steps were necessary, or if one of them alone would've been good, but to be foolproof I'd recommend doing all of them - I think the migration assistant theory posited above is what likely caused my issue/is causing many people issues, but I was able to get CC to function without wiping the whole computer, so I consider that a major win. After many days of reading message boards, this thread finally did the trick, so thank you to everyone here!
Hey I recently upgraded from a 2014 macOS CATALINA to a 2022 macOS 12.4 Monterey. I had no issues transfering everything over using the migration assist except for my CC doucments. When I tried to open up CC on my new mac it came up with problems with migration and that it couldnt be opened. I couldn't open up Lightroom or Photoshop because of it and I need those for school work, etc. I tried to use the unistall app for CC but that had the same problem. The notification would come up saying the CC is unssported or damaged. Anyway, I binned everything CC from my apllication and utilities, even downloaded the Adobe Cleaner thing that you guys suggest, so now everything adobe is gone. The next suggestion thing was to download an apllications manager for adobe but that wasn't compatible with this new mac, which was annoying cause that seemed to be the step that worked for everyone else. I have a school provided account that has access to everything so signing into adobe is no problem, but downloading the creative cloud app still doesnt work, just stops at 0.8% download and says there is an error and to quit downloading. Ive researched stuff for hours but still haven't found a solution, hopefully I haven't messed up my new mac. If anyone knows another solution that would be great. ( BTW the creative cloud still works on my old mac, its just very slow and the mac has next to no space. )
As far as I know, Mac Migration and Time Machine DO NOT WORK properly with Adobe program activations due to hidden registration files that are not included when Migration or Time Machine make their copies
I even used the separate creative cloud uninstaller provided here -cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html but when I restarted the laptop, all the Adobe files inside the hidden /Library where still there, and also the background processes! That Sync process that looks more like a Trojan.
When running the uninstaller, despite having uninstalled all the software, the Application folder tells me that it cannot uninstall due to software still being present (note: Camera Raw cannot be uninstalled from the Creative Cloud interface nor I can find the Camera Raw in the Application fodler)
Hi Kglad, thanks a lot for your reply,
I tried these steps before and this separate uninstaller didn't remove the "Adobe Content Synchronizer Finder Extension (1426)" process, which kept running in the background even after unistalling everything.
[Update] I might have found the catch over here, there 3 are AdobeSync folders saved under Utilities that the Installer does not remove.
After dragging them to the trash and deleting the files with "adobe" in their name under the hidden directory /Libray the background process seems not triggered.
I did re-run the cleaner and the prompt message is "Uninstallation of Creative Cloud desktop completed with errors".
With everything deleted or uninstalled, I noticed a higher CPU load today than previous days when I haven't had the Creative Suite installed.
Still I'm flummoxed that these uninstall processes are not removing file under /Library nor other two apps I had to manually remove, namely:
What shouldn't happen is when I uninstall the software and the Suite that they stay active in the background, even if at 0.1
After reinstalling and removing the abovementioned files I was able to limit the CPU usage to under 3%
Theon, the use of the migration assistance is the cause of your current inability to install or use Adobe applications. Our applications are not designed to be copied from one computer. This is especially important if the new M1 Mac needs Universal app components but is blocked because the Intel versions were copied to the computer.
To try to recover, please download and run the CC Cleaner Tool from -cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html. You can then use the steps listed in -cloud/help/download-install-app.html to install any needed Adobe applications.
At this point I've tried several times to install all CC Apps on my new MacBookPro M1 (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc). Via migration Assistance (but my programs keep on crashing or can't open any docs every single time) and just from scratch. I'm always getting the same 403 error. But the thing is... I can't download any apps via creative cloud... Everytime the same installation error occurs.
Michelle, please discontinue using Migration Assistant in your efforts to install Adobe Creative Cloud applications. For more information on how to recover from using the Migration Assistant -install-discussions/can-i-run-my-adobe-apps-on-apple-compute....
Mich3II3, did you already download run the CC Cleaner Tool from -cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html? If so, you would then be in an excellent position to complete the steps listed in -cloud/help/download-install-app.html to complete the installation process.
Hi Jeff. I've tried downloading the CC Cleaner tool several times and repeatedly get "Unable to check for updates: Please check your internet connection and try again." This is the typical message I receive on my M1 Mac when the app is not compatible with the M1 processor. Is there a different version of CC Cleaner Tool that we should be downloading? I am unable to run it as-is.
