Summary: A man driving on his way to work Thursday had quite the
surprise when something smashed into his windshield, spraying glass
into his face.

TACOMA, Wash. -- Troopers are investigating several reports of cars
apparently being struck by rocks as they drove along I-5 in the South
Sound.

William Bamba says he was in the far left lane on his way to work late
Wednesday night and as he passed under 84th, he heard the sound of a
heavy object his his car. At the same time small pieces of glass flew
into his face.

He was able to pull over and called police. He wasn't seriously
injured.

Bamba says whoever is responsible is not thinking about the
consequences.

"It's stupid," Bamba said. "It's costing people money out of their
pockets and it could have killed somebody."

Bamba said the trooper told him there were reports of six other rock-
throwing incidents -- three in the area of 84th in Tacoma and three
more in Lakewood.

Troopers are investigating these incidents, but they're not saying yet
whether somebody is indeed throwing rocks.
