"Permission Denied"

Hi! I'm trying to sync my NFS:MW saved files between my phone and my tablet. I first tried syncing from sdcard/android/data, but noticed the save file wasn't there. Now I tried the game's folder in /data/data/, but am receiving this error:

open failed: EACCES (Permission Denied)

I have given, of course, root access to the app, and also fixed permissions.

Any ideas on what it could be? Thanks!

Are you trying to read or write? currently foldersync only supports read for root.

I think this is the same issue I have trying to sync my clockworkmod files from /data/media. Something about the new Android 4.2 makes copying/moving to an external server not work. I see the same error using an ftp program that does have root read and write access. If I copy the files to the device sdcard location they can then be synched to an external server location, but the system folder is locked down somehow.

I see! Hope this eventually changes... I found an app that will sync my game saves between devices, but in the future, I'd definitely like to have this app, to sync more than just game saves.

Will it be possible to WRITE in root ?

I need to synchronize my Favorites POI for Tomtom located in /data/data/com.tomtom.europe/files/personal/pois/Favorites.ov2 with a Dropbox directory.

Currently in can synchronize from my Galaxy S3 to Dropbox but not in the other direction.:-(

Has anyone found a fix for this? I am trying to backup my wifi access point lists in /data/misc/wifi but it fails. Root is enabled and can see the folder, however, I get the error "open failed: EACCES (Permission denied)"
