I have a lot of different accounts and I spent about an hour and half entering all the data into Foldersync one day and it was comrehensive...  I made a backup and confirmed the restore works by wiping uninstalling the application, rebooting and then reinstalling application and restoring the database.  That worked.  Then I made a backup of the whole foldersync file and zipped it and stashed it in my Box and Dropbox and on my computer.

Then I wiped my phone and got a new sdcard and put the entire Foldersync file back in place at sdcard/Foldersync/backup/ with three files foldersync.db and foldersync.db-shm and foldersync.db.wal in that directory

The application will not restore.  Ive tried so many things.  It is not a farfetched thought to think I could just put the files back in their original spot and then restore.  I have rebooted, cleared cache and reinstalled /wiped data many times and now I come to this forum seeking clarification on how to restore my setup.

Thanks

A few users have experienced this, but no error seems to occur during restore (in their cases anyway), so I don't know why it happens. And as you say, you tested it where it worked.
So it may have something to do with the new sdcard or the wiping of the phone.

If you have a rooted phone you could try to stop FolderSync, and replace the db file on the internal memory.

It is located here on internal memory. You will have to use a file manager that supports root:
Full version: /data/data/dk.tacit.android.foldersync.full/databases/foldersync.db
Lite version: /data/data/dk.tacit.android.foldersync.lite/databases/foldersync.db

I am thinking of migrating to a XML format or perhaps the Android backup service in the future, but that is some way off.

This is resolved but i dont know why the original file didnt work. Going too loook into that later. Heres what I did

On the Kindle Fire I set up each account.. db..box..sugar..and livedrive and as a prooof of concept i backup same folder too all four.. (apks) I backup the settings oon the Fire zip the whole backup folder and name it kf-backup.zip send it off to the cloud... and then i Get on my Vision and downlooad kfbackup to my phone unzip it and place it in a clean spot then start up the app and hit settings then Restore. Worked perfectly.

oof course i had too modify each account too reflect a new device and new host files and new cloud files which was painless. I then backup and zip that file as g2 backup.zip and send that ooff for when i need it.

this is a great app I will be maximizing it tonight!
