Installed owncloud 6.0 on my server.
Installed owncloud app on my android device (4.2.1)

Is Working very well, can login upload etc...

Installed foldersync app on my android device.
Created an account for owncloud with my login and server address (like the app for owncloud, too).

But foldersync connection says:

"Method not allowed"

No Connection to my web is possible with foldersync but with owncloud app it is.....

what yould be the problem here ?

could not find a way to get the logfile from my device and attach it here.

Any idea what could be wrong ?

Ive the same problem. My owncloud installation supports only HTTP and run on another port than 80, so my url is http://myserv.mydomain:888/owncloud. This app maybe support only webdav connection with https, or only on port 80, I dont know.

Looks like only on the default port.
If you're going through a router, try Port Forwarding.

Solved:

I had to create the correct path to owncloud Server:
example.org/owncloud/remote.php/webdav

otherwise foldersync tells you that message....

This works fine, but this is WebDAV connection string, no ownCloud.
App have to create this path from hostname internally, or it cant be named owncloud, but webdav in settings.

The App is somewhat frustrating..

Nowhere a hint about ownCloud support (not on the official Homepage nor Play Store) yet it has a dedicated ownCloud entry. However this doesn't seem to work for me (same error: Method not allowed).

The App wants me to enter: host-name or IP
I would guess host-name was just the domain and not a protocol in front since "or IP" implies this. But no it seems you have to enter the protocoll. Why not leave the protocoll out and guess it?
1. Try HTTPS
2. Fail? Try HTTP
3. Fail? Failure Message
Instead the app clears my domain entry just without telling me what's wrong... grr

GL 150 contribution sounds like we even have to enter the whole url or was that for WebDAV?

The lack of in-app support is quite frustrating. I would like to buy it and support the devs but where's the support for "us"?
If ownCloud has a own entry and it has one... why not add a sample there so ppl would know what to enter!?

A new WebDAV entry works if i follow: https://portknox.net/en/tutorials/use-the-android-app-foldersync-with-owncloud
Still would be nice if the ownCloud entry would work

The issue is your webserver. Your webserver is not allowing all of the required HTTP verbs. OwnCloud needs all of the following HTTP verbs enabled:
PUT GET PROPFIND PROPPATCH OPTIONS MOVE POST MKCOL DELETE PATCH REPORT LOCK UNLOCK

Also if your webserver has an internal webdav system, disable it for your owncloud site. OwnCloud uses it's version of webdav implemented in the PHP code.

Same here: Account-Type WebDAV works with ownCloud 7.0.2, but account-type "owncloud": No way!

What to exactly put in the field "Server-Adresse???"

Thanks! This worked.
I just installed ownCloud 7.0.4-3 on my Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Server (with the OpenSuSE-package which is the easiest) and hatte this issue as well, when I added an ownCloud account to Foldersync (paid version).
"Method not allowed"
After I just added this /remote.php/webdav it worked, as a later post says also giving that link how to use ownCloud with Foldersync

Hope I can use FolderSync as a reliable client for my new ownCloud.
I installed ownCloud because my DropBox 50 GB 2 years free period is going to stop soon.
