Hi all,

I add my Gdrive account to Foldersync and then add a folderpair and do a synchronisation in my SD. But after that, I can't open my files anymore with my Explorer App, the file format is not recognized anymore.
I tried to uncheck "convert to google documents" but it's exactly the same.  As I seem to be the only one to have this issue, does anyone have any idea about what I missed ?

Thanks.

Can you open the files if you download them to your computer?

I have a similar issue. I'm pretty sure it's something Google Drive is doing.
For instance, if I have a text file (8 bit ascii, say foo.txt) it uploads fine and is readable in google docs, but if the folder containing foo.txt is synchronized, if I then open my local (synchronized) copy of foo.txt, it's in html. I'm guessing that google is using epub style html layout for internal storage and converting in/out as items are uploaded/downloaded - and there's no conversion for direct file access.
This seems to have broken compatibility with OfficeSuitePro and Docs2Go as well.
I tried clicking the 'translate' check box in the account, deleting all local files and re-running synchronize. This doesn't fix the issue.

Given that GoogleDrive can keep offline copies this is not a big issue for me, just mentioning it as a data point.

The newest version of Foldersync use the new Google Drive API. Conversions of uploaded files will not happen, at least not via request by foldersync (and in facts never has) . Also, I have chosen to disable sync of "native" google files. They are not really syncable, because they cannot be downloaded in native format. Previously they were converted, but this really doesn't work for a proper sync.

If a download of a "native" file is requested in the file manager it will be downloaded as a PDF file - I will probably tweak this in the future to allow downloads of all the export formats that Google offers for the respective file types, and perhaps also to choose to convert uploads - but no promises.

If the old Google Docs account type is used, it works like before, but I don't really recommend using that anymore, although it should work fully with Google Drive. The API it uses has also be deprecated by Google.
