12th�ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN�S DAY
Supported by the City of Naperville, Mayor A. George Pradel and the Turkish Consulate General of Chicago, Mr. Fatih Yildiz, the Turkish community hosts the 12th�annual�International Children�s Day Festival to promote peace and friendship with traditional and modern music, dance, and arts.�
Featured events include�dances and music from over ten different cultures, performances in traditional costumes, informational booths, face painting, gifts, souvenirs, food and beverages. Every country represented will also have informational booths where kids can learn about each culture.

Ephesus: Ancient Metropolis, Modern Excavation Enterprise, Tourist Attraction
Sabine Ladst�tter is director of the Austrian Archaeological Institute and is excavation director at Ephesus in Turkey. She holds degrees from the University of Vienna, Austria and the Karl-Franzens-Universit�t (University of Graz), Austria. Her areas of specialization are Roman archaeology, landscape archaeology, pottery, and archaeological method. Recently Dr. Ladst�tter was named Austrian Scientist of the Year 2011 by the Association of Austrian Science Journalists for her outstanding research and her ability to communicate science to a broader public.

11th ANNUAL CHICAGO TURKISH FESTIVAL�
After a decade long success at Daley Plaza, the Chicago Turkish Festival will reach a larger audience during its 11th�anniversary at one of downtown Chicago's busiest landmark locations along the lively Magnificent Mile.� For the first time in Chicago's history, the Pioneer Court, where the first Chicagoan settled, hosts a cultural exchange of this scope with the captivating sights, sounds and tastes of one of Chicago's most popular ethnic cultural festivals, the�Chicago Turkish Festival, on May 31st�and June 1st.�
Highlights of the 11th Chicago Turkish Festival:�
- Cocktail Party at Pioneer Court�in the evening of Thursday, May 30th�to commence the festivities - tickets will be on sale soon
- Festival will be open to public on May 31 and June 1, from 10 am to 9 pm�
- Cappadocia,�one of the most popular tourism destinations, will be the visiting region from Turkey this year
- Delicious meatballs of�Sultanahmet Koftecisi, coming all the way from Turkey
- Crunchy Turkish bagels "Simit" from Simit and Smith
- Mado ice cream�
- Efes beer for happy hour anytime of the day

We are also looking for volunteers to participate in the planning stages now or to help during the festival.
