TACA Celebrates Turkish National Sovereignty and Children's Day on April 23rd

Today, we celebrate the 93rd anniversary of the Turkish National Sovereignty and Children's Day. The Turkish National Assembly was established on April 23rd, 1920 as one of the first steps to create a new independent nation based on national sovereignty.

Mustafa Kemal Ataturk gave this day as a present to the children, knowing that this young country can only prosper on the shoulders' of the new generation. With the same faith in our children, we the TACA Board and the teachers at Ataturk School are working hard to provide the necessary education and respect for our country. We take pride in our work.

We most certainly look forward to having your support towards TACA's dedication to our community, following the directions of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, teaching our kids about our heritage, promoting the Turkish culture in the US, and bringing our community together and making it stronger.

As we celebrate "Children's Day," parents please make sure to teach your kids about April 23rd, its history, and its meaning.
