Scholarship: English for Heritage Language Speakers
Native speakers of critical languages are in high demand in the U.S. government. EHLS trains advanced English speakers to be effective communicators and strong candidates for federal jobs.
All EHLS participants receive a�full scholarship�that includes tuition and a living stipend.
The 2014 EHLS Program is open to native speakers of Amharic, Arabic, Balochi, Bambara, Dari, Hausa, Hindi, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Mandarin Chinese, Pashto, Persian Farsi, Punjabi, Somali, Tajik, Tamashek, Turkish, Urdu, Uzbek or Yoruba. For more info visit www.ehlsprogram.org

Sultan Oner from Midwestern University (Downers Grove, IL), is conducting a survey for her doctoral dissertation called "Blood Pressure Monitoring in Individuals of Turkish Descent/T�rk K�kenli Bireylerde Tansiyon Denetiminin Kavranması." *Michael Milgrim (PhD: the University of Pennsylvania) has conducted research on Ottoman-Russian Relations/ Osmanli-Rus Munasebetleri:1877-78 / War Indemnity Problem / Harp Tazminati Meselesi at the Ottoman Archives in Istanbul (the Basvekalet and Hariciye Arsivleri) living in Turkey between the years 1970 and 1974. He was an assistant professor (ustad-e yar) at the former Pahlavi University (Danishgah-e Pahlavi) in Iran from 1974 to 1979. He speaks Turkish and Persian. Dr. Milgrim will captivate you with his knowledge of this Ottoman period and its treasures. |
