Savingis the process of storing your game data digitally within your console. Without saving, all progress you have made in the game will be lost. Saving is slightly different between the PS2 and Wii versions of THE DOG Island, as the PS2 saves game progress on a game card while the Wii saves progress directly to the console's hard drive.
Saving can be done either by talking to Mr. Postman, or by selecting any Pink Mailbox you find across THE DOG Island. There are four save slots availible, providing the option for multiple player characters, or multiple saves from the same playthrough at different points of the game. After saving, pressing back to return to the game screen will prompt the game to ask if you want to keep playing. Selecting "no" will take you back to the game's title with your game fully saved.
The game has no "Load" option when already in-game, so you'll have to restart and sit through the opening game startup again to load a file. You can't name your save files; they are instead labeled as your character's name, so if you've saved a current game on multiple files, you'll have to check the dates or location on them to tell the difference.
