Nextstart winecfg and change the Windows version to Windows 10. Then go to the "Graphics" tab and enable the "Emulate a virtual Desktop" option. Now set the Desktop size to just under your actual desktop resolution so the wine desktop window fits on your desktop. Once you have done that click "Apply" then "OK" to close winecfg.

Now go through the installer like normal. Once the installer has finished you should have a "Studio 2.0" application shortcut in your desktop application menu you can use to start it. Mine is under the category "Wine" for example.

2: Mouse and keyboard inputs stop working after changing window focus. Workaround: Open winecfg go to the "Graphics" tab and enable the "Emulate a virtual Desktop" option. Now set the Desktop size to just under your actual desktop resolution so the wine desktop window fits on your desktop. Once you have done that click "Apply" then "OK" to close winecfg.

Yes there is, Unfortunately the Mac version doesn't work on Linux as Mac and Linux are actually quite a bit different. They may both have been similar to Unix in the past but they really don't share much. So best option for Linux users it to run the Windows version through Wine.

I suppose there just isn't as much demand for it as most software that are on Mac are also on Windows and Windows has a lot more software compared to Mac so it kind of makes sense to focus on Wine. Although now I come to look there is actually a Wine equivalent for running Mac software on Linux called Darling ( ). Still quite far behind compared to Wine though by the looks of it.

Hi @apemax i can confirm that instruction maker isn't working on wine. 'tried some other wine versions like lutris-fshack and proton but none of them fixed that problem. I can imagine that some other switches (there are a lot in lutris) may be helpful. Or fiddling with some libs in wine?

Hi @SylvainLS , thank you that's brilliant.

I debuged studio using the command lutris -d (as i'm using lutris on top of wine)

It gave me those errors when opening the Instruction Maker (clearly somethings wrong with fonts):

As of the time of writing (June of 2019), there is no version of FMOD Studio that supports Linux operating systems. You could potentially use a virtual machine or compatibility tool such as Wine to make it work, but there is no existing tutorial or guide on this topic that we could give you.

I just want to +1 this thread. I also do all my audio primarily on linux now, I do most of my recording in Bitwig studio for Linux or Ardour since the latencies are so much smaller and there is less interference from the OS. Please consider it. If you do decide to do it, go the Jack Audio route.

Azure Data Studio is a lightweight, cross-platform data management and development tool with connectivity to popular cloud and on-premises databases. Azure Data Studio supports Windows, macOS, and Linux, with immediate capability to connect to Azure SQL and SQL Server. Browse the extension library for more database support options including MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Cosmos DB.

Azure Data Studio's familiar interface offers a modern editor experience with IntelliSense, code snippets, source control integration, and an integrated terminal. Engineered with the data platform user in mind, its extensibility allows users to customize their experience by installing the extensions relevant to their workflow, including database migrations, charting, GitHub Copilot, and more!

Beginning with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) 18.7 through 19.3, Azure Data Studio is automatically installed alongside SSMS. Users of SQL Server Management Studio are now able to benefit from the innovations and features in Azure Data Studio. Azure Data Studio is a cross-platform and open-source desktop tool for your environments, whether in the cloud, on-premises, or hybrid.

For Apple Silicon users, please make sure you have Rosetta 2 installed. Some backend services are yet to be converted to native ARM64 binaries. You can run the following command in a Terminal window to install Rosetta 2.

Install Azure Data Studio for Windows. Then, use the azuredatastudio command in a Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) terminal just as you would in a standard command prompt. By default, the application is stored in your AppData folder.

Incremental versions within a major operating system release may no longer be in support by the operating system. Consult the documentation for your operating system to ensure you have received applicable updates.

To apply environment updates offline, install the latest version directly over your previously installed version. You don't need to uninstall earlier versions of Azure Data Studio. If an earlier version is present, the installer automatically updates to the latest version.

If an app is in a folder, open the app's folder to check for an uninstaller. Double-click Uninstall [App] or [App] Uninstaller, and then follow the onscreen instructions.

First issue is that "S32DS Extensions and Updates" window somehow do not show every package. S32G2 Development pack, GCC toolchains S32 Design Studio and Configuration Tools 3.4.1 package (comes with package manager bundle) are there, but other SDK packages did not appear after adding the update-site. I worked around this using Help/Install new software... section which let me install those packages.

The other issue is, although configuration tools run and seems to work fine, they do not generate some of generated source code. I have tried FreeRTOS toggle led example and RTD Siul Dio Ip example for S32G274A, peripheral tool did not generate Suil related code (others generated fine) without showing any errors and I was unable to build.

I do not know if S32G2 SDK is officially supported for Linux, I am guessing not. However it looks like it is almost there, also seems a lot quicker and more efficient than on Windows. I am posting because maybe somebody had a workaround about second issue or NXP would know about it.

Where exactly do you need to change the path? I have installed the design studio Version: 3.4

Build id: 201217 (Update 3) on Ubuntu 20.04, its an arduous task just to install the software, it needs around 5GB hard disk space and almost 2 hours to install.

It looks like SDK is not installed correctly, you should have seen the examples if otherwise. For first time setup, I would follow the manuals step by step and do everything on Windows (since it is the actual supported OS for the SDKs).

under installation directory in folder "NXP/S32DS.3.4/eclipse/mcu_data/components ", there are data for generating code. These file names and their references in the .js files are written case insensitively. I have changed the ones I could catch manually, that has done the job.

Thank you for replying, it appears those examples are based on S32_SDK_RTM however only the Freemaster SDK is installed as the part of Design studio, can you please check whether you have the S32_SDK_RTM installed on your linux version. I have posted a separate thread just to get some official response.

Normally SDKs are installed through Extensions & Updates tool addressing update-site zip files as explained here. But as I mentioned in the post, in Linux, most packages do not appear (probably because they do not have official linux support) so I have installed them through "Install New Software..." section, addressing update-site zip archives. I always install and test them on Windows machine before installing on linux though.

Sorry I sort of tired of this and went back to other processors which I can use more easily. Tried DISPLAY=:0 and DISPLAY=:0.0 and neither would do anything at all. Then decided that I'd install as a user. That told me that my Eclipse installation is not an eclipse instillation so I got bored of trying.

Lets just say that I should use Windows for the quiet life. I'm sure I will some time but for now I'll stick with what I know and use my other processors. I might come back to this as I was asked to teach embedded SW Development by a group and decided that launchpad was a cheap intro device. Arduino would probably be simpler to set up and use across various platforms.

ok, when you come back to this feel free to post again. Note that the launchpad is currently not supported under Linux so if your plan was to go with the launchpad, this would not have been a solution anyhow unfortunately.

Didn't realise that at all. There was a linux installer and I'd assumed that the IDE was built on top of Eclipse which is, sort of, platform independent, I use it now and again but for the most part I'm on Microchip processors, their IDE is built on netBeans, I think.

I am an user of Arch Linux and my problem is that I am unable to install extensions. I followed the Microsoft pages which says that I should click ctrl+P and then write ext install (package what I'm looking for) so I did that.

After clicking "install extension" nothing happend that is why I tried several times with other extensions with no success. The bar "install" has shown but when I clicked on it nothing happend as well. My visual-studio-code was installed via aur Visual-Studio-Code aur page.

I do not think it is connected with installation of visual-studio-code. I will be really thankful for a help with installation of extansions. Sadly no errors where shown in other way I would put it there down here. Please forgive me my english. I am not a native.

It looks like VS Code is not installed for being used as admin in linux, and it means that by default the extensions folder doesn't have permissions to write, so when a user tries to install specific extension, it's not allowed.

I am using Linux (actual Ubuntu Version) on my private Workstation, so I tried to get Outsystems Development Environment running on Linux. My first Try was to use Wine or Play on Linux, but ended up with missing .NET Dependencies, which I couldn't fix.

Hi Hercules, I'm new here at Outsystems, but I already have some experience in Linux and I've been studying a library translation tool called "Wine" for Linux. When I started training with "RafaOutsystems" I had the same problem running the Service Studio on Linux. Because of that, I started testing with the "Lutris" tool, which is a graphical program that runs Wine in graphical mode to make configuration easier.
