It looks like Chrome (21.0.1180.89 on Mac OS) automatically upgraded Tabs Outliner from 0.4.27_0 to 0.4.28_0 this afternoon. I had recently installed and been running 0.4.27_0 for a few days with no browser restarts.

After the upgrade the main Tabs Outliner window was not present; when I opened the TO window by clicking on the address bar icon it listed a crashed Tabs Outliner window.

More importantly the titles I had placed on Windows and Groups were lost; the hierarchical layout was retained.

Is this a known bug? Should I be restarting Chrome occasionally to ensure titles are saved? Is it possible to add an icon to the TO window to force a save of the current state?

This extension is wonderful and allows me to work with tabs in a way that finally makes sense to me.

Thank you - this was not known bug.

Please upgrade Tabs Outliner extension to 0.4.29

All titles entered in 0.4.27 must be back.
If you already overwrite them in 0.4.28 then version of the title from 0.4.28 will stay.

TO save everything automatically. Yet not always immediately. So before closing Chrome completely, if you done some editing in TO, maybe it worth to wait 1-2 seconds.

For next versions I plan to do a big work to ensure that any user data will be secured as much as possible.
This include automatically database backup every day and every hour and storing several versions of this backups.
Possibility to export and import data to and from files.
Big rewrite of storage engine, current one is not very robust, and can be corrupted on hard PC reboot.

This is of course very  essential features, and It is actually why meantime "beta" is written close to the version number.

Once again, big thanks for this bug report.

I've upgraded to 0.4.30 and all of my titles from 0.4.27 have
returned. Thank you very much! I will PayPal a donation as soon as I
lift the stupid sending limit on my account. (I almost never use
PayPal.)

Thanks again!

You already help a lot by this bug report : )

One more day with this bug and this project would be get a bunch of 1 star ratings in reviews, from my fellow users who not so generous to find more appropriate place for such reports, as this do you - so thank you  : )

Actually a weird bug, it is go through my pre release test cases because of some other Chrome bug - when extension update self on running Chrome it sometime not update all files, some of them continue to be served from Chrome cache. So I even failed to reproduce it (several times in a row) even after reading you message. This teach me for something, so I will take measures for this Chrome behavior.

Best regards.
