"Not on the island"

A friend asked this so I think it would be good to answer it here in
case others are wondering:

"I wasn’t sure, when the gallery file for a girl said “not on the
island”, whether or not that meant no more photos (mission
accomplished), or that she had photos left but had been banished
through my rating her badly."

Good question, and I should make that more clear in the game. That
means she is not on the island because she did not have any snaps
which were better than the leading snaps the current set of guests on
the island have. Each game day, the game picks the best snaps for each
part of the island, and invites that guest to come back on. What is a
best snap? It depends on the invisible quality rating I give it, and
the effect of your rating guests. If you, for example, give a good
rating to most of the blond guests you see, then other blond guests
have a little quality boost to their snaps, and are more likely to
come to the island.

If you give a guest a bad rating, he or she will NEVER come back to
the island. Also, guests like that one have a slight lowering to their
quality ratings. If you go back and rate those "down" guests as
neutral or good, they are just as eligible to come back to the island
as they were before you rated them down. No hard feelings!

If you want a guest to come back to the island, make sure you give him
or her a good rating. Then be patient. If that guest does not come
back right away, it may be that he or she does not have any photos
quite as wonderful as those you can snap right now. So keep snapping!
And come back each week as I will add new guests, and when possible
add more snaps to guests that are already in the system.
