setup issues

fairly new at this stuff....
i'm trying to get tablegear up and running. i've unzipped the files to
the server and try entering my db connection information, but getting
the following error:

You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that
corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use
near '' at line 1

i created a test page and verified that i can connect to the pull data
using the same connection information so i'm not sure what the issue
is.

any help would be appreciated.

Ah sorry I had intended to respond to this but didn't get to it... what was the issue?

I'm not sure what the issue was but I was getting the error when I was
connected through my company's VPN. The web server and MySQL db is
running on my local machine so maybe there is some added security on
my company's network. Running on my home network, things are working
fine.
