Dear TLR Committee,
I hope this message finds you well.
My name is Gautam Datla, and I’m a Data Scientist at Strategic Education Inc., with a Master’s degree in Data Science from NJIT. I’m writing to express my interest in contributing to the 4th Table Representation Learning Workshop.
Background :
I have been actively involved in research centered on explainability and interpretability in AI. Most notably, I contributed to an NSF-funded project in collaboration with NASA and presented a paper on interpretable deep learning for space weather research at IEEE ICTAI 2023. I also have a co-authored paper currently under review for ICTAI 2025 in collaboration with Prof. Jason Wang from NJIT on XAI . Additionally, I am currently engaged in AI safety and alignment research ( Mechanistic interpretability in LLMs ) alongside collaborators from George Mason University and Blue Dot.
In addition to my previous experience, I have developed generative AI applications and agentic workflows at Strategic Education Inc., utilizing both unstructured and structured data, including databases, data warehouses, and knowledge graphs, to enhance operations. We are currently digging deeper into structured explorations, which further fuels my interest in the following topics outlined in your call:
LLM-based agents interacting with structured enterprise data
Retrieved-augmented generation (RAG) and in-context learning and (ICL) with structured data (e.g., tables, graphs, images, and time series)
Constructing structured knowledge bases with LLMs
Trustworthiness of structure/knowledge-enhanced LLMs
These topics are not only central to my research and professional interests but also areas where I believe I can offer valuable insight and constructive feedback.
Please find my CV attached for your consideration. I appreciate your time and look forward to the opportunity to support the reviewing process and contribute to this exciting and timely workshop.
Best,
Gautam Datla
