This is a talk from Matt Chandler last weekend. No talk or teacher is perfect, of course; but my opinion is this was really good and very much worth listening to, whatever your perspective or “side” or other may be.
TONIGHT come to the zoom table and share your EXPERIENCE and OPINION regarding the events in Washington DC and what it is like for you to try and follow Jesus in the midst of it all.
Scripture to consider:
'Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. ' Luke 9:23
'Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. ' Hebrews 12:1-3
'We love because he first loved us. ' 1 John 4:19
Thoughts & Questions To Consider:
How did the events this past week affect you… really?
Are you afraid to share what you truly think, and if so, why?
What are your personal convictions at this point in time regarding following Jesus, perseverance, and love?
