New Tab button missing on one of my computers

I don't see why the new tab button is not visible on firefox 20.0.1 on windows7. I have tabkit 0.9.9.9 installed on several machines. On one machine the new tab button is empty. Any ideas why the tab button is missing from by tabkit toolbar on the left?

Try to switch to horizontal mode
Then customize the toolbar and move the new tab button around
And switch back to vertical mode again
