Official Firefox 15 Disaster Post

Mozilla trolls us (TK users) once again.

The new Firefox 15 breaks most of the functions

Now I found out that it could be related to the session store module not fully loaded at the start

And also a user told me that a second window would make TK work

So I think if I can fix the module loading problem, I can restore ALL functions if tabkit (except those already bugged :P

Give me some time, my new computer's power supply is dead and sent for repair/replacement

Now I am using my MacBook Air to develop (yeah I know how to develop it on Mac now

Now I fixed the issue
Most functions seems working except tab positioning

Known bugs:

• New tabs will always be lead to far right
• Popup (target _blank) tabs will lead to strange intention

Once the I solved the above problems I will release it for testing
Should be within this week (If I am not lazy~)

From my experience it's fine
But I never use the multi-row, and some other functions :P

I would like release to normal users as soon as possible
Especially some users cannot revert back to Firefox 15

Tried the first one and with tabs tree at the left - haven't noticed any bugs.

Just uninstalled old version of addon and installed version "ff15-01b". After some reconfiguring and restarting FF, new version seems to work fine, more or less.
"Tree-mode" works.
"Group by parent" works.
"Collapsing and expanding group" works.
"Dragging group" (drag+shift) works.
Copyng tab and Copyng tab from group (drag+ctrl) works very strange: you get copy, but also old version of tab or even group changes position. Sometimes (I've got 1 time) old tab and its copy are merging in new group.

TK earlier and now TK2 is one of my favorite addons.

But I think I won't release it until i fixed the nextType error (only in Fx15)

The code is really complicated (not written by me!) & need some time to understand

Found out why the nextType is missing


For people who know some programming:
Tabkit is using the event stack function names to determine the source of a new tab
(like is it restoring from session, opened by special command or just a normal new tab)

Problem is that our 'friendly' Mozilla decided to move some sessionrestore functions inside a Javascript module
And that makes the function name does NOT appear in event stack, making tabkit unable to determine whether a new tab is created from last session or not

Now I need to find out if I can grab that information from somewhere else


For people who have no idea what I am talking about:
Problem found
Don't know how to solve it
Need to study Firefox source code to create another solution maybe
Takes time :P

Uninstalled "tabkit2 ff15-01b", installed "tabkit2 0.9.9.8-beta-01".
Firefox 15.0.1

Works:
V Leftside Tree
V Color groups
V Grouping (color and tree) by parent
V Highlight tabs (yellow new n black current)
V Dragging group (shift+drag)

Works, but strange:
? ctrl+drag:
        While copying single tab, we have copy in new place (to where we drag), but also the original tab moves there too.
        While copying tab from group, we have 2 situations:
          1) Copying tab DOWN (out from group) results
            a) moving all the group to the new position
            b) creating copy of tab at the bottom of group
            c) moving original tab to the bottom of group > braking tree
          2) Copying tab UP (out from group) results
            a) group doesn't change position (that's normal)
            b) copy and original (I haven't understood yet, which is which) change their position, but
              b1) one of them appears to move to the top of group
              b2) another moves to the bottom of the group
          3) Copying tab within group works even more strange))

What problems should this version fix? Maybe I could test it more specifically.

P.S. Excuse my english - hadn't practice for a long time.

I have just tried "tabkit2 0.9.9.8-beta-02.xpi" on Firefox 16.0, but the functions to sort and group do not work. They show in the menus, but did not work for thee.

I am not sure what you mean by not working
I got a portable version of 16.0 (not 16.0.1 cannot find it)
Tab Grouping is working fine for me

Please try in a new window or a portable version (with clean profile also if possible)
And please also provide screenshot if possible

I just tried the 16.0.1 upgrade, found TK completely disabled, & went back to v14.
