Thou shalt in no way use this sacred science to offend the great God, and to work ill unto thy neighbor; thou shalt communicate it unto no living person whom dost not thoroughly know by long practice and conversation, examining well whether such a person really intendeth to work for the good or for the evil. And if thou shalt wish to grant it unto him, thou shalt well observe and punctually, the same fashion and manner, which I have made use of with thee, and if thou doest otherwise, he who shall receive it shall draw no fruit therefrom.

The Book of Lies (full title: Which is also Falsely Called BREAKS. The Wanderings or Falsifications of the One Thought of Frater Perdurabo, which Thought is itself Untrue. Pistis Sophia is a Gnostic text discovered in 1773, possibly written between the 3rd and 4th centuries AD. The existing manuscript, which some scholars place in the late 4th century, relates one Gnostic group's teachings of the transfigured Jesus to the assembled disciples (including his mother Mary, Mary Magdalene, and Martha). In this text, the risen Jesus had spent eleven years speaking with his disciples, teaching them only the lower mysteries. After eleven years, he receives his true garment and is able to reveal the higher mysteries revered by this group.

There are some books on magick that teach it purely as spiritual advancement. There are others that teach it as a form of psychological self-help that effects only inner change. While magick can and should be both of these, it is something more. The Sorcerer's Secrets is about success in practical magick; it is a book that aims at change in both the outer and inner worlds. Beyond a mere spell book or training course, The Sorcerer's Secrets is a field manual on successful sorcery written by a professional sorcerer.

The genus Tripteroides is a large, complex assemblage of 122 species, subdivided into five subgenera - Polylepidomyia (19 species), Rachionotomyia (14 species), Rachisoura (28 species), Tricholeptomyia (9 species) and Tripteroides (52 species). Species are distributed from India to Japan, and south to Australia including the islands of southeast Asia and the South Pacific. The species comprising the genus are highly diverse, and the relationships among Tripteroides and Trichoproposon species remain unresolved as many characters overlap. The taxonomic status of this genus urgently needs revision.

Little is known of the biting preferences of most Tripteroides species. In the Australian Region, several species (e.g., Tp. solomonis Edwards) are strongly anthropophilic, entering houses to bite, whereas in the Oriental region, only Tp. aranoides is known to attack people. In Tp. aranoides mating is initiated in flight, and copulation takes place on vertical surfaces. The first oogenesis is autogenous, but subsequent egg batches require a blood meal. Females oviposit on the wing, with females flicking their abdomens and thrusting individual eggs into the larval habitats. Tripteroides bambusa (Yamada) are susceptible to infection with Getah virus.

This edition also contains Crowley's original comments located in over 35 annotations to help the reader understand the lesser keys of Solomon the king.
