Hello Providers!
My name is Sundal Ali and I am the Youth Program Manager at the Youth Resource Center at New Friends New Life. New Friends New Life helps formerly trafficked and exploited women and children overcome backgrounds of abuse, addiction, poverty, and limited opportunities by providing access to education, job training, interim financial assistance, and trauma informed mental health services. To better serve our community, New Friends New Life recently opened the Youth Resource Center (YRC).
The Youth Resource Center (YRC) recognizes, recovers, and restores high risk, trafficked, and exploited girls through holistic, trauma informed care. The YRC functions as a drop in center, offering young women aged 12-24 a safe place to have their basic needs met (shower, food, clothing, etc) and also receive counseling, case management, and targeted life skills programming to ensure they are equipped with the tools necessary to build safe, healthy, and independent lives. Our operating hours are Monday-Friday from 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. and every second Saturday of the month from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
The YRC’s open house to our community will be held on Thursday, January 11 from 5-6:30pm, in honor of National Anti-Human Trafficking Day. We hope that any and all service providers that interact with at risk and/or exploited youth can attend to tour the YRC, receive additional information about our services, and learn about our referral process.
