Dear colleagues,
Think globally and act locally and collaboratively in tackling Britain’s water challenge.
Our resident innovators Geovation Hub are hosting a water challenge event on the 12th of January at Urban Innovation Centre. The idea of the event is to understand how to use geographic information to come up with local solutions for water problems and turn the ideas into working prototypes.
Globally, nationally and locally we face challenges of managing water sustainably. We are either dealing with problems of: too much water, too little water, managing water quality, ageing infrastructures, and our own water use behaviour. Managing water use in Britain, sustainably, will require us to collaborate in developing and implementing innovative, disruptive solutions to long standing, complex problems.
Ordnance Survey’s Geovation Water challenge is trying to do just that working with Environment Agency, Defra, Southern Water, United Utilities and Springwise; using geography, design thinking and technology. Come and join the event from 18:00 to 20:30 on Tuesday 12 January to explore Britain’s water challenge at the Geovation Hub.
During the event you will explore:
