Subject: Water Challenge by Geovation Hub at UIC 12 January
To:

Dear colleagues,

Think globally and act locally and collaboratively in tackling Britain’s water challenge.

Our resident innovators Geovation Hub are hosting a water challenge event on the 12th of January at Urban Innovation Centre. The idea of the event is to understand how to use geographic information to come up with local solutions for water problems and turn the ideas into working prototypes.

Globally, nationally and locally we face challenges of managing water sustainably. We are either dealing with problems of: too much water, too little water, managing water quality, ageing infrastructures, and our own water use behaviour. Managing water use in Britain, sustainably, will require us to collaborate in  developing and implementing innovative, disruptive solutions to long standing, complex problems.

Ordnance Survey’s Geovation Water challenge is trying to do just that working with Environment Agency, Defra, Southern Water, United Utilities and Springwise; using geography, design thinking and technology. Come and join the event from 18:00 to 20:30 on Tuesday 12 January to explore Britain’s water challenge at the Geovation Hub.

During the event you will explore:

  • What innovative solutions are already being developed in managing water use from around the world?
  • What are the global scale water challenges and how they will affect Britain?
  • What are the challenges with managing water use in Britain?
  • How will those challenges be affecting us all locally?
  • What water management problems are keeping Environment Agency, Defra, Southern Water and United Utilities awake at night?
  • How you can help tackle those problems through the Geovation Water Challenge?

WHEN

Tuesday, 12 January 2016 from 18:00 to 20:30

WHERE

Urban Innovation Centre - 1 Sekforde Street, Clerkenwell, London EC1R 0BE

For more information please contact the Geovation Team on: Chal...@geovation.uk

Best regards,

Events Team

Huh. I'm actually in England around then, could likely go. What would you all like to see done / figured out while there?
