HDIF Round 1 Winners Announced

 

 

Twenty-one innovative projects have been awarded funds through the Human Development Innovation Fund’s (HDIF) Round 1 competition.

 

 

 

The Human Development Innovation Fund (HDIF) is proud to announce the 21 winners of its Round 1 challenge fund competition. The grants are part of an overall £30 million investment in innovation in Tanzania by UK Aid. HDIF was launched in May 2014 to fund innovative and sustainable solutions to create social impact in education, health and WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) across Tanzania. Winners for all HDIF funding opportunities are selected based on a combination and balance of 5 criteria: innovation, development impact, viability, organizational capacity, and results measurement.

 

HDIF’s Round 1 winners join HDIF’s existing 3 Initial Investments. All grant awards are subject to the satisfaction of specific conditions and final contract negotiations. With HDIF’s Initial Investments and Round 1 grantees, the overall fund’s portfolio now includes the following:
