Play Name - Love in the Cholera of Time
Duration - 90mins
Language - English
Director/Writer - Prashanth Nair
Company - Tahatto Theatre, Bengaluru, India

Play Summary
‘Love in the Cholera of Time’ premiered to sold out shows at Jagriti Theatre on June 17, 2023. This 90mins long English play is a Sci-Fi Romantic drama based on the Einsteinian Laws of Time, Shakespearean whimsies of Love and the following facts:

Fact #1: Objects in space exert and give in to the gravity of the other, a force so strong that it even bends time around them.
Fact#2: Love is measured linearly merely because we experience time linearly. In short, the story is about two lovers separated by the tyranny of time.

The play is centred around two individuals who exist in different eras but fall in love nevertheless and in the in-betweens of time. This aberration puts the jobs and lives of four Time Gods in danger, whose job is to keep time in its own place. Thereby, putting into motion strategies that could change the very nature of time. The play is a thought-provoking and funny deliberation on love, loneliness, science and the industrialised weaponization of time. Whether the Time Gods' efforts to keep time - understandable, linear and tear free or not, one needs to just find out for themselves.

This original drama marks Tahatto’s first new production on stage since Covid-19 brought physical theatre to a halt across the world. The first draft of the play was penned in Sept 2020
and the team has been working tirelessly over 6months to create the play.

Audience Reactions:
"I did not want the play to end! It was amazing." - Jinal
"This play has a lot of heart & brain. I can see why you slow cook your plays." - Gunjan
"The best play I have seen in bangalore. Just WOW!" -  Abhijit
