Hello TA Bronx/Uptown Activist Committee members!  

I'm putting out another request for someone to fill the Communications/Recorder role, and/or also the Vice Chair role!For those who don't know, I'm going on maternity leave soon  so we're looking for someone to fill these role(s) by mid-late August. Here are the duties:

• Communications/Recorder: Along with the Organizer and Co-Chairs/Vice Chair, create meeting agendas; take notes during meetings; send notes out after meetings. (Ideally also add events to the committee public calendar, and post on social media when you can.) I was a little intimidated by this role beforehand, but I've found it very satisfying! I just bring my laptop to meetings and take notes in the pre-existing agenda doc, and then send it out after the meeting. And a benefit of putting events on the calendar is it makes you very aware of when events are happening, which is nice if you want to go to more events but sometimes forget to look at the TA calendar! 
• Vice Chair: Provide support to Organizer and Co-Chairs, step in when Co-Chairs aren't available to facilitate meetings, send out meeting reminders, or help with other general committee duties. This role can sort of be as small or big as you want it to be.

Some perks of taking on a leadership role: It gets you more involved with the committee, it's fun and rewarding, it looks good on your resume, you can get comp tickets to TA events like the annual gala, you get invited to things like the TA camping trip, and you'll often be one of the first people asked to speak to the media or similar opportunities (though you don't have to talk to the media if you don't want to!)
