Hello T.A. Bronx-based members, volunteers, supporters!

This is a reminder that Transportation Alternatives is having two Bronx-based events on Wednesday, October 14th.

Tour de Bronx Marshal Training

6-7pm, Bronx Library Center, 310 East Kingsbridge Road

This training session is for volunteers who have already signed up to marshal, and also for anyone interested in learning more about what it means to be a marshal at one of our tours.

T.A. Bronx Volunteer Committee

7-8pm, meet at the Bronx Library Center

This committee meeting agenda will focus on news about the upcoming Tour de Bronx and also planning for future “Bronx Green Drinks” and environmental organization partnership development.

I hope that you can join us for one or both of these meetings tomorrow night!

Thanks,

Elena

Elena,
This past Monday the municipal services committee of CB 10 voted to recommend a public hearing on St. Paul.  No reason why was attached to the resolution.  I was not permitted to speak or give out material.  Also I was reprimanded by the district manager for bringing in a group when I was told to limit attendance to two or three people.  However, negative board members who were not members of the committee were permitted to speak and influence the vote.

Thursday night the full board votes on whether to hold a public hearing.  So I will be working until then to get a large group to attend.  This will be a "majoirty rules" public hearing as recommended by the district manager, Ken Kearns.
I hope someone from TA will attend the public hearing, and I may need help on a phone bank. I will let you know if the resolution passes and, if so, the date of the public hearing.

Best regards,
Virginia Valenti
