I want to give a heartfelt thank you to everyone that showed up and showed out to the Stop the Cross Bronx Expansion Rally! It definitely filled my bucket! Community is powerful, especially when we work together towards a common goal.
Sometimes activism can be disheartening. It can take years to see the fruits of your labor, for neighbors to see another perspective, for data to make a point, or to see a project to completion. In fact, the very spot where we held the rally is the sight of a
project that has been funded since 2008 and has yet to break ground.
Thursday felt amazing. The community came together to endorse
Option 2 for the Cross Bronx rehabilitation. The posters and signs were creative, numerous, and colorful. The chants were catchy and funny. The speeches were giving!
We have an opportunity to do something similar next week! CB10 and CB11 are getting updated proposals from NYC DOT about bus improvements on the M116. These projects are vulnerable unless they get community support. Attached are fliers for the following meetings:
- Tuesday, June 10th at 6:30pm at CB10
- Monday June 16th at 6:30pm at CB11
If you live or work in Harlem come on down and voice your support!
