Help create open data about communities! Council Member Eric Dinowitz and BetaNYC invite you to join us for a Mapping for Equity field mapping event at Mosholu Parkway.
This hands-on activity will give residents an opportunity to collect public realm data, learn how neighborhood assets are represented in open data, and contribute directly to local stewardship. Participants will use field papers to document Mosholu Parkway, with a follow-up session to enter the data into OpenStreetMap using appropriate tags.
Field Mapping: Friday, July 10, 2026, from 2:00 PM–4:00 PM
Meeting Point: Mosholu Playground (Google Map Link)
RSVP: https://www.beta.nyc/event/e260710-m4e/ by Thursday, July 9
Follow-up Data Entry Event: To be scheduled
Through Mapping for Equity, BetaNYC works with communities to ensure public data better reflects local assets, public spaces, and neighborhood conditions. This event is an opportunity for community members to participate in civic data collection while supporting more informed public-space stewardship.
This event will be delivered in English, and all ages are welcome to attend. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Please wear comfortable footwear and weather-appropriate clothing, as this event takes place outdoors. For access needs or accommodations, please email eve...@beta.nyc.
Please feel free to share this invitation with residents, civic groups, and community partners who may be interested in participating.
With gratitude,
Duncan & the BetaNYC team
