Dear Edmundo,   This morning, New Yorkers for Transportation Equity rallied in front of the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway with NYC Comptroller Brad Lander, Public Advocate Jumaane Williams and young people from our community to demand an end to highway expansions. Our Communications Director, Taylor Jaffe, said it best:   “We’re calling on the Governor and the Department of Transportation to stop the highway heist. We are standing here to say it is time to stop sinking billions of dollars into unnecessary highway expansions and instead invest in our communities.” Tell Gov. Hochul: Halt Highways Now! Today is the last day to urge New York State’s Department of Transportation to halt highway expansions and instead provide a clear roadmap to increasing public transportation, fixing existing roads first, and expanding protected bike lanes to save lives in New York State.
