As we discussed this past Monday at the Court of Honor/Family Night, we have been working on the Citizenship in the Community merit badge. One of the last open requirements asks the Scout to research their community and put together a presentation describing important and unique aspects such as its history, cultures, and ethnic groups; its best features and popular places where people gather; and the challenges it faces.
Scouts need to create a visual component to their presentation. This can be a video, slide show, Powerpoint presentation, flip chart, or photo exhibit, etc. The Scout chooses their form of visual presentation. Hopefully, Scouts have been researching and preparing their verbal and visual presentations. Scouts will share the presentation with the troop tomorrow Monday, February 16th. Please email your presentation to me so that I can display it from my computer to the TV. You are welcome to bring a device to display your presentation. It will need an HDMI port or adapter to connect to the television.
If you have questions, please let me know. The actual requirement is shown below:
Citizenship in the Community Requirement 8:
"Develop a public presentation (such as a video, slide show, speech, digital presentation, or photo exhibit) about important and unique aspects of your community. Include information about the history, cultures, and ethnic groups of your community; its best features and popular places where people gather; and the challenges it faces. Stage your presentation in front of your merit badge counselor or a group, such as your patrol or a class at school."
