Here are the details for our camping night tomorrow, May 15th, and our service project at the Scout About event on Saturday, May 16th.  If there are any questions, please let me know.

The following Scouts/Scouters have indicated that they plan to camp on Friday and help on Saturday:  Zeke Cloninger, Landon Hawk, Anthony Hunt, Landon Hunt, Tobias Raymond, Ron Hunt, Loryn Payne
The following Scout will assist on Saturday morning:  Mac McCauley
  • Arrive at the Scout Hut at Macedonia Lutheran Church at 6:30 PM or after on Friday, May 15th.  Eat dinner before you arrive or bring something with you to eat.  You will set up your tent upon arrival.  Make sure to bring your tent, sleeping bag, and air mattress.  The temperatures will get down in the low 50's overnight.  Make sure you are prepared with warm clothing.
  • After everyone is set up, we will watch a movie or play games in the Scout Hut until bedtime.  There will be snacks and drinks.
  • On Saturday morning, we will cook breakfast and clean up.  Food will be provided by the troop.  Around 9:00 AM, Mr. Hunt and I will take everyone over to Burlington City Park to set up our booth for the Scout About.  The Scout About begins at 10:00 AM and ends at 4:00 PM.  At our booth, we will share with visitors how to tie a square knot.  At this moment, I do not know where our booth will be.
  • Bring your field uniform (Class A) to wear for Saturday (tan shirt and Scout shorts/pants).  We want to put our best image forward to the community.
  • You will also want to bring a folding camp chair to sit in at the booth on Saturday.
  • You will need to bring some money to purchase food from a food truck vendor for lunch.  Approximately $20 should cover lunch with some money left over.
  • You should retrieve your scout at 4:00 PM from our booth.  Once we know where we will be, we'll share that information with you on Saturday.
This is an excellent opportunity for the scouts in Alamance County to showcase Scouting to the community.  I am looking forward to this weekend.
