The troop is camping this Friday through Sunday, November 7 - 9, at the ONSC North Fall Camporee on some property near Cedarock Park (4515 Fleet Isley Trail). The following scouts and leaders have indicated that they are planning to attend and are registered:
Zeke Cloninger, Hunter Hanson, Anthony Hunt, Landon Hunt, Luke McCauley, Mac McCauley, Tobias Raymond, Porter Smith, Jareth Stubbs, Loryn Payne, Drew Neill, and Ron Hunt
Please open the attached trip information sheet and read it carefully for all of the details regarding the weekend. Here are a couple of things I want to highlight:
1. Please meet at Macedonia Lutheran Church near the Scout Hut at 6:00 PM on Friday, November 7th. We will load gear into the trailer and try to leave around 6:15 PM. Eat before you come or bring a brown bag dinner to eat on Friday night. If you have a conflict on Friday evening (football game, etc.) please email Mr. Payne and let him know that you will not be meeting on Friday and indicating when you will be arriving at the camporee site.
2. The cost of the weekend is $20 which covers part of the registration fee and part of the cost of food for the weekend.
3. Scouts may use their own tent to camp this weekend or borrow one from the troop.
If you would like to use a troop tent, please email Mr. Payne (scoutm...@gmail.com) to let him know.4. Wear your field uniform (Class A) on Friday to travel to the camporee. You will also wear it for flag ceremonies, the campfire on Saturday night, and the worship service on Sunday morning.
5. Everyone attending will need to complete a pre-event screening form and turn it in when we meet on Friday evening. I am required to turn these into the health officer when we check in at the camporee.
6. I have attached a copy of the camporee guide if anyone is interested in reviewing it before this weekend. There is also a document with the activities that take place on Saturday.
7. We will return around 9:45 AM on Sunday morning. You will pick up your scout at Macedonia around that time.
8. Plan for the weather. It is going to be cool during the overnight hours. Make sure that you have warm clothing and a cap to sleep in. Please bring a coat or jacket to stay warm.
9. On Saturday, the scouts will participate in activities that will enable them to earn the Search and Rescue merit badge. Several scouts volunteered to bring items for the troop's gateway. If your Scout offered to help, please send the items.
10. Scouts should bring a pair of long pants and a long sleeve shirt in order to participate in the Hasty Search, which is one of the requirements for the merit badge. They will also need closed-toe, sturdy shoes.
If anyone has any questions. please let me know.
