The Alamance District is hosting an event this Saturday, May 16th, at Burlington City Park from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The Scout About will publicize Scouting in Alamance County and various units in the district will be demonstrating Scout skills. Troop 39 will be teaching those coming by our booth how to tie a square knot. Scouts working the booth on Saturday will earn service hours.
Additionally, the troop will be camping the night before (Friday, May 15th) on the lawn behind the Scout Hut for those who would like to get a night of camping for rank purposes or for the Camping merit badge. Breakfast will be provided by the troop on Saturday morning. There is no cost associated with the camping night. We will get the scouts who camp transported to City Park.
In order to properly plan, we need to know (1) who plans to camp on Friday and (2) who can help with the Scout About on Saturday. You do not need to camp in order to help with the Scout About. You can work for part of the day or the whole day - whatever fits your schedule.
Please email Mr. Payne (scoutm...@gmail.com) by Wednesday evening with your plans - camping (Y or N), Scout About (Y or N and times available), or not participating.
