GEDCOM created with TMG2Ged ver. 2.00 using Ancestry template to post to Ancestry.

I would like all living people = Private EXCEPT one person. For that person (me), I would like only my primary name to appear, but no dates or events. How can I accomplish this?
           TIA!!  ~Carol in New Mexico

P.S. It just occurred to me that I can just edit my name directly in Ancestry - duh!! But am still interested if there is a TMG2Ged solution. Thanks!   ~Carol

Carol,

I am not aware of any good way to do this.

If I recall correctly, Ancestry will privatize names for living people. So, for your own use, it's probably best to leave all names in, i.e., set T2G's Private Names property to "Primary Name" and rely/expect Ancestry to suppress the name. I believe you and trusted visitors will see the names, but other Ancestry visitors will not.

To make your own name visible, you'd have to mark yourself as deceased. I don't recommend that. It's bad karma, of course, but it's also a can of worms, in general.

Makes sense. I will just change directly on Ancestry. Thanks!   ~Carol
