Hello Troop 2!

Welcome to Winter in Chicago!  It was bound to catch up with us eventually, right?  It always does!  But, we forge ahead and work around the weather (otherwise we'd never do anything around here! Ha!)  Here's what is going on with the Troop:

Monday Night Meetings

We will be meeting tonight at St. John's from 7 - 8:30, Class A Uniform required.  We will be finalizing our January Campout/Day trip that is coming up this Saturday.  We will also work on any advancement needs that the boys have.  So, bundle up and come prepared with your Scout Books!

January Campout

We have organized a day trip on Saturday, January 20th for our campout this January!  We are going to go to the Ottawa Scouting Heritage Museum down near Starved Rock.  We will meet at St. John's on Saturday morning at 8 AM, so we can be on the road by 8:30.  That should get us to the museum near opening (10:00), we will leave there and have lunch at the Starved Rock main lodge.  From there, we will make a call dependent on the weather as to whether or not we will do our hike and some Eagle watching!  We should be back in Elgin by mid afternoon.

Pancake Breakfast

This annual fundraising event for the Troop will be held on Sunday, February 4th, from 7:30 - 12:30.  Set up will be on Saturday the 3rd.  The good news is that the breakfast is on a Sunday again, which means we should get a lot of extra business from the church attendees that day!  The bad news is that the compact size of the Troop still exists so, like last year, we won't be having shifts in the kitchen, it is pretty much going to be all hands on deck!  So, get ready to work, clear your calendars, tell your friends, and sell those tickets (the boys were given their tickets to sell last month) like you've never sold them before!  Let's make this another great year for the Pancake Breakfast!
