Hello Troop 2!
We had a great weekend for the bike camping trip! Lots of fun was had by all!! We've gotten a lot accomplished in May, and have a lot more to do!!
Cemetery Flags at Bluff City Cemetery
As per tradition, we will be placing the American Flags on graves the Wednesday before Memorial Day, which is this Wednesday, May 22nd.. This will take place from 6 - 7:30. This is a VERY important tradition for Troop 2 and we will be doing this rain or shine, so watch the weather and dress appropriately. We will then be removing the flags we placed the following Wednesday, May 29th, same time and same place.
Eagle Service Project
Josh Myers will be conducting his Service Project on 2 different days at Westminster Christian School. Thursday, May 23rd and Saturday, June 1st. Both days are from 3:30 to 7:30. The school is located at 2700 Highland Ave in Elgin. The project consists of painting and repairing the playground equipment at the school. Pizza will be provided for dinner both days. Make sure to dress appropriately for the work and the weather, and to bring plenty of WATER! You can RSVP to Josh at

June Campout - Backpacking
The postponed backpacking campout will take place on May 30th - June 2nd. We will be heading to Michigan for this with a small, but veteran, group. Looking forward to this one!!
Memorial Day = Shift to Summer
Monday, May 27th is Memorial Day, so we will not be having a meeting. The following Monday, which is June 3rd, we will begin our Summer outdoor meetings at Tyler Creek. Our meeting time will also shift for the summer to take advantage of the daylight. Summer meeting time is 6:30 - 8:00. No uniforms are required for the summer meetings.
Summer Camp is right around the corner! We need to have all Part C med forms updated for camp this year. This means that the date on the form must be less than a year ago from July 6th (our last day at camp). If you need this updated, please get this done immediately! Even if you need to run the boy over to CVS Minute Clinic, just to get a simple physical and a doctors' sign off on it. We need to have an up to date form or the Scout CANNOT be at camp.
Also, we need a copy of the front and back of your insurance card. All of this needs to be on file at Camp Phillips while we are there. Lets start getting these turned in at the first summer meeting on June 3rd, shall we? If you have any questions or concerns about this, please get a hold of me immediately!
